Selling foreclosures has often been dubbed the “hardest part of homeownership,” a sentiment that echoes the frustration of both lenders and borrowers alike. Banks play a critical role in facilitating real estate transactions and managing mortgage loans, yet many of their legacy processes surrounding foreclosure and property sales remain rooted in traditional, qualitative methods. These antiquated approaches, often reliant on subjective assessments and manual procedures, are ill-equipped to meet the demands of today’s digital age.

QuantPS embraces the transformative potential of leveraging data-driven methodologies to revolutionize the real estate practices of banks, lenders, and mortgage insurance providers, ultimately ensuring more efficient and equitable outcomes for all stakeholders involved.

In this case study, we’ll explore how the AWS cloud migration from GCP further enabled QuantPS to pursue its mission of ensuring more for those with less facing foreclosures.

ABOUT QUANTPS

Quant Property Solutions (QuantPS) is a pioneering data analytics platform tailored for mortgage insurance providers that help lessen loss given default during foreclosures.

BestAgent™, QuantPS’s solution, harnesses the extensive real estate industry expertise of its founders to provide a groundbreaking solution for property sellers. The Business Challenge

QuantPS initially operated on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) but decided to migrate to Amazon Web Services (AWS). Although they were initially content with their previous cloud provider, issues began to arise, and things started to fall through the cracks, prompting them to look for an alternative. The challenge they faced is three-fold:

AWS migration: Cloud platform transition challenges

Transitioning from one cloud platform to another introduces complexities and risks, requiring careful planning and execution to ensure a seamless transition without disruptions to operations.

Technical expertise gap

Jim Nicol, like many founders, is not, in his words, a “tech guy” and instead comes from a real estate background, aiming to focus on growing his business. This lack of IT expertise poses a challenge when it comes to navigating complex technical issues. However, he recognises that technology is a powerful ally in achieving his business goals, prompting him to seek an ally that can help with the tech side of things.

Operational resilience

As an independent software vendor, QuantPS faces the inevitability of encountering challenges – it’s not a matter of if, but when and to what extent. From maintaining uptime during system updates or maintenance, to ensuring data security and compliance amidst evolving regulations, this unpredictability adds pressure to the business operations. A lack of support or receiving subpar assistance when issues arise can disrupt operations and hinder the company’s ability to effectively serve its clients.

Addressing these challenges requires a proactive approach, effective communication, and strategic partnerships to ensure QuantPS can continue to innovate and provide value to its clients in the dynamic real estate industry.

THE SOLUTION

The need for increased support and more dedicated engagement led QuantPS to DNX Solutions and the decision to do the AWS cloud migration.

Assessment of application on GCP before AWS migration:

The engagement with QuantPS started with a thorough assessment of their application on GCP to identify any existing challenges, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement. This assessment served as the cloud foundation for developing a tailored solution to address their specific needs.

Education on AWS Well-Architected environment:

To address any technical knowledge gaps, DNX shared what constitutes a well-architected environment on AWS, including security policies, establishing robust foundations, and how to leverage solutions from the AWS Marketplace.

AWS Migration and modernisation:

DNX Solutions facilitated the migration and modernisation of QuantPS’s application to an AWS environment. This involved transferring existing workloads, optimizing architecture for AWS services, and ensuring seamless integration with AWS infrastructure.

AWS Marketplace compliance:

DNX assisted QuantPS in achieving compliance requirements necessary for listing their solution, BestAgent, on the AWS Marketplace. This included ensuring that the solution met AWS’s standards for security, reliability, and performance, allowing QuantPS to reach a wider audience of potential customers.

Throughout the engagement, DNX maintained open lines of communication with QuantPS, providing regular updates, sharing knowledge, and addressing any concerns or questions that arose. This collaborative approach fostered a strong partnership and ensured that QuantPS remained informed and empowered throughout the process.

THE OUTCOME

Through the engagement with DNX and migration to AWS, QuantPS experienced day-to-day improvements in their operations. They were provided with a clear roadmap to success, encouraging them to step outside their comfort zone and embrace continuous growth and innovation.

Achievement of a Well-Architected platform on AWS

QuantPS successfully migrated to an AWS environment and achieved a well-architected platform. This transformation optimized QuantPS’s infrastructure and laid the foundation for future growth and innovation.

Transformation from customer to Partner and access to AWS Marketplace

QuantPS’s journey with DNX didn’t stop at being a customer; it evolved into being a Partner, signifying a deeper relationship with AWS. This transformation granted QuantPS compliance and access to the AWS Marketplace, opening up new opportunities for expansion and collaboration.

Future of scaling Globally and leveraging AWS network of partners

With a solid foundation on AWS and access to the AWS Marketplace, QuantPS is now poised to scale globally. By leveraging AWS’s extensive network of partners, QuantPS aims to further its mission of ensuring more for those in the real estate industry who refuse to settle for less.
