Growth brings opportunity — but also complexity. As customer expectations rise and product offerings expand, the platforms behind the scenes need to keep up. If they don’t, onboarding slows down, operational costs creep up, and it gets harder to deliver new features that actually move the needle.

Emite anticipated rising demand for scale and flexibility in analytics. To prepare, the company undertook an SFIA-based skills and capabilities review, combined with a market assessment of partners and hosting platforms.

The review highlighted the need for specialist expertise, leading to the selection of DNX Solutions as the preferred partner and AWS as the strategic hosting platform. DNX’s proven approach to cloud architecture and automation, together with AWS’s scalability and resilience, provided the right fit.

Working together, emite and DNX simplified the architecture, modernised the cloud platform, and established a cloud foundation to support continued customer growth and future requirements.

About emite

The emite platform delivers powerful data integrations, advanced analytics, and rich visualisation by combining end-to-end capabilities that connect and normalise data, track KPIs, trigger threshold alerts, and surface insights in real time. Trusted by enterprises across industries, Emite supports leading solutions including Genesys, Amazon Connect, Contact Lens, Salesforce, Playvox, Zendesk, Colabrio, and many more.

Opportunities: emite’s Planning for What’s Next

Emite had already proven its value in the contact centre space, but saw a broader opportunity emerging. As AI adoption accelerated and data volumes grew in scale and complexity, businesses needed platforms that could keep pace. Rather than stretching the limits of the existing setup, emite made a strategic decision to advance its solution — modernising the platform to scale quickly, support more complex scenarios, and deliver the flexibility to adapt to new customer needs.

Together with DNX Solutions, they identified key opportunities including:

  • Accelerating customer onboarding
Shortening deployment timelines and reducing manual effort to deliver faster time-to-value and build stronger customer relationships from day one.
  • Enabling premium features and future enhancements
Creating a technical foundation to support new capabilities without costly rework or performance trade-offs.
  • Expanding market reach
Giving the business room to grow and supporting new customers in existing markets while enabling entry into new ones.
  • Improving performance and reliability
Building a more resilient, scalable platform that supports enterprise-grade workloads with confidence.
  • Reducing long-term operating costs
Streamlining infrastructure and improving cost visibility to support more predictable, sustainable operations.
  • Enhancing developer experience and maintainability
Simplifying the codebase and architecture to improve build stability, speed up delivery cycles, and make it easier for engineers to focus on innovation—not firefighting.
  • Supporting composability and interoperability
Ensuring the platform can seamlessly integrate with diverse systems and data sources — giving customers the flexibility to adapt, compete, and grow in a data-driven world.

For emite, this was about more than platform uplift — it was a long-term investment in product velocity, customer experience, to match business growth with the scale required.

DNX and emite Collaboration: Future-Proofing emite Platform

emite had the product knowledge and a clear vision. What they needed was a partner to help bring that vision to life—someone with the technical depth to lead a large-scale migration, and the flexibility to work alongside their internal teams. That’s where DNX came in.

This re-platforming project was just the beginning. It’s the first phase in a long-term modernisation program designed to give emite the flexibility, performance, and scalability it needs to scale with demand..

Together, emite and DNX launched a phased program to migrate emite from Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to AWS — setting the foundation for future enhancements and a shift toward a modern microservices architecture.

The project was designed to be collaborative from the start. emite’s engineers, architects and QA specialists stayed closely involved, while DNX provided AWS expertise, led the architecture design, and managed the technical delivery.

Key elements included:

  • Wave-based migration of 145 virtual machines, starting with a pilot to validate the process before expanding to additional customer groups
  • Re-platforming on AWS, using services like Amazon RDS, OpenSearch, Elastic Beanstalk, and ElastiCache—secured with private VPCs and fine-grained IAM controls
  • Multi-tenant configuration, allowing customer groups to be securely isolated while optimising infrastructure costs
  • Security and observability built in from day one, aligned with AWS best practices established during the earlier MAP (Migration Acceleration Program) Mobilise phase
  • Joint delivery, with emite and DNX working as a single team—sharing responsibilities across planning, testing, cutovers, and knowledge transfer

This wasn’t a handover — it was a partnership, and a stepping stone toward emite’s future state. The next phase: a shift to microservices and ongoing platform improvements to support emite’s long-term strategy.

The Results

By migrating emite to AWS and re-platforming its core components, emite achieved more than just a technical upgrade — it unlocked a stronger foundation for scale, speed, and long-term product evolution.

While this was only the first step in a broader modernisation journey, the early outcomes were clear:

  • Lower infrastructure overhead per customer
emite expects to see a 39.6% reduction in the estimated operating cost per tenant—potentially freeing up resources that can be reinvested into innovation and customer experience.
  • Faster, more predictable onboarding
The new platform simplifies and accelerates the setup of new tenants and supports better consistency across regions, improving time-to-value for customers.
  • Improved platform reliability and observability
With a modern AWS architecture and stronger monitoring capabilities in place, emite can operate more confidently at scale — reducing risk and supporting more responsive operations.
  • Security and compliance built-in
By shifting to a private VPC design with fine-grained IAM roles, the platform now enforces stronger data isolation and access control across multi-tenant environments.
  • Internal alignment on a future-ready architecture
The migration gave the emite team hands-on experience with cloud-native infrastructure, setting the stage for the next phase: a transition to microservices.
  • Strengthened operational capability and cloud-native skills The emite team upskilled their operational and technical expertise in managing AWS-based workloads and modern operational practices—enhancing their capability for future initiatives, such as microservices adoption and continuous improvement.

Most importantly, the business now has a clearer path forward. With a stable, cost-efficient, and secure cloud foundation in place, emite is better equipped to roll out premium features, expand into new markets, and strengthen the value emite delivers to every customer.

What Comes Next

This was the first step in a broader plan. emite and DNX have mapped out a full modernisation program, moving emite toward a microservices architecture—designed to improve agility, speed up development, and support long-term product evolution.

By acting early, emite has taken control of its platform strategy and cleared the path for future growth.
